Yumi Nu, an American fashion model, singer-songwriter, and social media sensation, garnered global attention when she made history by becoming the first Asian plus-size model to grace the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 2022. Notably, she has also been featured on the cover of the esteemed fashion magazine, Vogue, and is represented by Wilhelmina Models. Venturing into music, Yumi released her debut EP in June 2019, with her songwriting journey having started in 2016.
Born on September 23, 1996, in Englewood, New Jersey, Yumi relocated to Maryland with her family at the age of 7. By 14, they moved to Newport Beach, California. Today, she calls Silver Lake, Los Angeles, her home. Yumi completed her high school education at a local institution in her hometown and later pursued business studies at a community college.
