Now PayTm has another rival it’s non other then Facebook’s acquired WhatsApp, Yes Recently WhatsApp started its own UPI-based Payments feature in India. This feature is basically available for some of the selected members of WhatsApp beta on iOS and Android. You can send and receive money after using this feature through Unified Payments Interface (UPI). In WhatsApp Version 2.18.21 of iOS and 2.18.41 version of Android have this feature. As we know WhatsApp have really large number of database of Indian Users, So obviously this payment platform’s integrations will boost digital payments delivery in India.
We at TheBlogMania spotted this payment feature which is currently available for beta app users in India. You can easily access this feature through Chat Window’s attachment menu. It will be available along with other options such as Gallery, Video, Documents etc. Once you will click on the payments tab it will open a disclaimer window and then the list of banks detail from there you can choose your preferred bank.
Once you will select it then you have to create an authentication pin in UPI payments platform. If you don’t have UPI account then you will have to create an UPI account through UPI app or your respective banks website/app.
It is also mandatory that both Sender and receiver must have the WhatsApp payments feature available on their messaging app. Facebook’s Own WhatsApp has already been declared that they are working on UPI based payment platfrom since July 2017. We had also spotted this feature on Android beta version in last August as well. Since UPI is most useful platform for payment transaction and handle by Government, So some of the big players like Samsung, Zomato, Google and, now, WhatsApp trying to attract their users by providing this facility in their existing products and services.
